Our Board

Our Board meet regularly and have all signed up to our Code of Conduct.

Our current Board members are:

James Condren, Chair

Jim is a Chartered Accountant with a BComm from UCD and brings extensive financial, governance and leadership expertise to Community Connect as Board Chair. He previously served as Finance and Board Director in the advertising and marketing industry, where he led financial strategy, budgeting, governance and reporting. Jim provides strong strategic oversight, ensuring accountability and supporting the charity’s sustainable growth.  

Mary Hunt

Mary is a dedicated advocate for vulnerable families, bringing compassion and hands-on experience supporting women experiencing homelessness. Her frontline work has given her a strong understanding of the challenges faced by mothers living in poverty. Professionally, she works in intellectual property, contributing strong organisational, strategic and governance skills. Mary brings a detail-focused approach to Board oversight, supporting integrity, transparency and long-term sustainability. 

Sarah Durning

Sarah brings extensive volunteer and professional experience to the Community Connect Board. She has supported vulnerable families through roles in parish visiting and as a voluntary counsellor with a pregnancy care organisation. Professionally trained as a mental health nurse, she offers strong empathy and insight alongside practical skills in administration, accounts and governance. Sarah is committed to upholding high standards and supporting the dignity and wellbeing of mothers and babies.  

Jane Parlon

Jane is a Marketing Director with 15+ years experience building Irish brands locally and internationally. She is skilled across brand, digital, PR, retail, e-commerce & technology marketing paired with financial acumen & commercial experience. Jane has recently completed an AI for Marketing & Finance certification and holds a First Class Honours MBA specialising in Business Model Innovation. She is also a Certified Mental Health First Aider, championing open mental health conversations in the workplace. Jane is passionate about connecting communities through great storytelling. 

Annual Reporting

Community Connect is fully compliant with the Charities Governance Code, as monitored by the Charities Regulator in Ireland.

We also prepare our annual reports and financial statements in full compliance with Charities SORP (Standards of Reporting Practice under FRS102).

Policies

As a registered charity, Community Connect is fully committed to our Donor Charter.

We also aim to comply with the guidance set out by the Charities Regulator in their document ‘Guidelines for Charitable Organisations on Fundraising from the Public’. 

We are committed to ensuring that our interactions with supporters and members of the public are of the highest possible standard. In this spirit, we welcome both positive and negative feedback. Our complaints procedure sets out guidance, should you wish to make a formal complaint.
